AGGRESSION, ATTITUDE AND AMPLITUDE - THIS WEEKEND IN HARTWELL, GA

You can count on them all this weekend at Lake Hartwell, Ga, as the 2016 Hidden Trails/Sea Doo Pro Watercross National Tour heads into Round 6 – the Triple Crown of Watercross. As the final stop on the tour before the National Championship in Charleston, West Virginia, and the World Championship in Naples, Florida, the flatwater racing on Harwell promises wide-open, throttle busting battles as PWC’s top athletes fight to claim those all-important tour points.

This season has seen some of the most intense competitions in several classes, with Round 5’s to-the-wire battles in the Pro-Am Ski GP class proving some of the most exciting motos of the year. And with both Dustin Farthing and Sam Nehme having a red-hot season, racers are leaving it all out on the course to challenge those standings.

Lake Hartwell’s course promises more turns and higher speeds, and provides the perfect venue for this sixth round of Pro Watercross’ ultra-competitive 2016 National Tour, with plenty of hard-fought, side-by-side racing on tap in both pro and amateur classes.

The Pro Watercross Tour Stop is held in conjunction with the community’s Wet and Wild celebration – promises more than just buoy-to-buoy speed and checkered flag challenges, with the Freestyle competition looking to heat up during this final stop before the Championship rounds. Amateur freestyler Justin Sylvain has consistently awed fans with his pro-level routines this year, and both the pro and amateur classes are wide open in the search for the best of the best – it’s not too late to see a newcomer or late-season entry rack up the points and prize money with some gutsy aerial acrobatics. With $1,000 in payout on the line in Hartwell, there just may be some surprises in store!

On the flipside of the high flying flips and twists of the Freestyle competition and the high-tech machines of the Pro motos, Pro Watercross will be going old school at Hartwell, hosting a  Vintage Ski  “run what ya brung" class, complete with a  $400 payout, thanks to Performance Excavating Inc. and Rex Hayes.

The Hidden Trails/Sea Doo Pro Watercross National Tour, sponsored by Jet Lift, will once again be livestreaming all the action on prowatercross.com/live, Ustream, YouTube Live, and on the Pro Watercross Facebook Page with Facebook Live. The Pro Watercross Tour fan base is exploding as the livestream audience gets closer to that 1 million mark! The livestream platform, added to the CBS Sports Network Coverage of the Championships, not only supplies a wider audience for Pro Watercross and doubles down on the tour’s efforts to grow PWC as a sport, but it also multiplies the exposure for individual racers – a fact that is keeping both athletes and sponsors energized and involved.

While this weekend’s Triple Crown of Watercross stands to see some of the most fiercely-fought motos of the season, Lake Hartwell offers more than starting-line-to-checkered-flag adrenaline. The Wet and Wild weekend events at Long Point Recreation Area on Lake Hartwell include a road race, stand up paddleboarding, free activities for the kids, vendors and food booths, and a beautiful park to relax in ... not to mention the nearby town of Hartwell – full of eclectic shops, great restaurants and some amazing live music in the evenings at the local watering holes!
